Evaluation of Indian Mustard Genotypes for White Rust Resistance Using BjuWRR1Gene and Their Phenotypic Performance

The present investigation was carried out to identify the potential donors of resistant gene(s)/the source white rust disease in B. juncea using 30 genotypes, including locally adapted accessions and advanced breeding lines. Out ten lines viz. Bio-YSR, CAULC-1, CAULC-2, CAULC-3, CAULC-4, CAURM-2, CAULR-7, CAURM-4, CAURM 4-1, 4-2 exhibited a lower PDI value (lesser than mean 10.83) with superior agronomic performance related disease. evaluation these genotypes for presence BjuWRR1 gene gene-based marker depicted functional allele five viz., 4-1 4-2. When compared sequenced amplicon it is found be identical that an east European Brassica line, Donskaja-IV, completely genotype against various isolates Albugo candida. findings from study suggested besides local Manipur CAULC-1 (Local Yella Potshangbam) CAULC-3 Kakching Lamjao) can used as resistance sources/donors programmes development elite cultivars future. In addition lines, two improved 4-2, obtained hybridization programme, may further evaluated releasing varieties rust.
